My name is Xiaotan Ren 任笑谈. In 2019, I moved from China to the United States to begin my undergraduate journey.
My passion for advertising was ignited by the “Million Merits” episode in the 1st season of Black Mirror. The idea that advertising could evolve into something as dystopian as what I saw on screen both fascinated and frightened me. I often wonder, could the world of advertising really become like that? This imagination drives me to be part of the change, hope that the future of advertising stays civilized, creative, and meaningful, from some minor contributions that I could offer.
